A Mouse In The Kitchen
I woke up this morning to quite a clatter in the Little Coastal Cottage kitchen. I had been under the impression that it was sitting vacant and waiting for a buyer, but upon further inspection I’m concerned that we may have a wee mouse taking up residence there.
She’s well mannered, and rather sweet, so it shouldn’t be a problem but my-oh-my, she sure knows how to make a mess in the kitchen! I knocked at the front door and after introducing myself I kindly asked her to at least keep it tidied up if she was indeed set upon taking up residence there!

I let her know that it would be a temporary situation, ahem, and that as soon as this little cottage gets sold she will need to move into more long term accommodations. A cupboard in my living room has been agreed upon.

While I was there I noticed that she had moved a little table and chairs into the sitting room, and I think it looks much cozier this way! She has pulled the old rocking chair closer to the hearth so that she could enjoy the warmth on cool evenings. A much improved arrangement, I’d say.

Hazel sent me home with an assortment of baked sweets. A tiny cherry pie, a hot cross bun and a baguette all look scrumptious and are tempting me to take a taste before dinner.
She made me promise to come back for tea sometime next week, as she has some embroidery work she wants to show me! You are very welcome to come along too, the more the merrier, and I’m sure she will have made extra scones and jam to have with our tea.
Until then, my friend!
