A Spring Studio Tour

Hello and welcome to my little studio. I’ve had so much fun decorating it for Spring!

The egg garland and hanging eggs were a treat to paint! I sat and sipped coffee for an afternoon and painted away, just enjoying the process.

And to be completely honest hosting a tour was the best motivation. I forced myself to clean and organize it a bit better, and now I get to share it with you! I’ve been collecting bits and bobs here and there for the last few months and it was so nice to get everything painted up and arranged on the walls. I found the farmhouse table recently on Facebook Marketplace. It’s a great size and perfectly imperfect. It got a coat of white paint as well, and some scruffing up so that further scratches and wear will just happily blend in.

The little cubbies and shelves on the walls are from Goodwill mostly. I chalk painted them to match. I also salvaged some little drawers from a couple of old dressers that weren’t useable. My dolly closet that’s on the shelf is one of them, and the drawer that’s hung sideways on the opposite wall that’s holding a baby Pothos is the second repurposed drawer.

I love my checkerboard linoleum as it’s great at hiding dust and easily swept and mopped. My desk and bookcase are from IKEA. I hung a pretty linen curtain to hide shipping supplies and my book collection. It’s nice to have a bit of closed storage as so much of my space is open and visible.

The 1960’s dresser belonged to my husband’s Grandma. It holds lots and lots of mini making supplies and offers a safe perch for my finished dollhouses. Pickles and Sailor would otherwise try to explore them!

Do you see the dolly shelf on the wall by my sofa? It holds my cherished collection of handmade dolls, Maileg mice and their friends. The dolls even have their own cupboard complete with a tiny mismatched tea set, and a comfy bed to read together on.

My felting supplies are also kept here. My roving is easy to access in the wire basket and my needles are kept neatly in their own canvas bag.

I have my paints and dollhouse building and mini making supplies tucked here and there within easy reach. I try to keep things organized and neat but more than often this space is a happy mess!

My antique sewing machine is in another corner, and I’ve hung a nice shelf above it to hold all of my sewing supplies

On the opposite wall is my writing desk. It houses my miniature collection behind glass. The bottom desk part opens up when I want to sit and write a note or wrap a package. I keep my pretty ribbons, tape, tissue paper, twine, and my postal scale there and in the drawers below.

As you can see from the little bed collection on my table I’m working on dressing the beds with some of my antique lace hankies and doilies. And I need to stitch up some more bed pillows! I will have a selection of beds and matching side tables available in the next week or so, and of course if you subscribe here you get first dibs on those as usual. Expect a blog post on those soon!

Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed my little Spring tour! I will be posting a little Spring tutorial for you to try your hand at next week. I had an extra busy week this week so I’m grateful for your patience. Learning the format of this platform has been a learning curve for me but now that a I’ve got the hang of it you can expect regular blog entries to be heading your way.

I’m especially looking forward to sharing the upcoming Spring tutorial. It’s simple and inexpensive to try and I think you’ll be happy with your results.

Thanks for stopping by and I’m looking forward to some mini making with you next week.

Xoxo,

Jenna
