Do You Like Stairs In Dollhouses?
It’s a burning debate among dollhouse fans and builders alike; stairs vs no stairs? Most dollhouse lovers have a big opinion on this. I’d love to know, what's yours?
For me it totally depends on what I’m prioritizing. Lately I’ve been adding stairs to every dollhouse I make. If I can squeeze in the furniture essentials for each room and still have space for stairs I’ll do them.

When wouldn’t I use them? When I just can’t seem to fit the furniture/fixture basics into a room, or when I just want to have all of the furniture options.
In this little cottage I sacrificed space in the kitchen to add them and I feel like it was totally worth it. I prioritized space for a sink/upper cabinets, and a little under-stairs stove. When I have space I really love to add them but for me stairs have almost become essential. They add such a cozy, realistic look. And who doesn’t love the option to decorate them with garland at Christmas?

I still have tin ceilings to get to, and to repaint. I decided to just go all white, so the tin ceiling you see in the above photo will get covered up. Oh and lots of caulking to do. I want to build an old fashioned plate rack for above the sink and I need to make curtains or blinds for all of the windows. I might add a shelf above the stove, we’ll see.

A peek at the kitchen! I’ll be building a custom plate rack for above the sink.
I’m getting very close to being done with the Little Coastal Cottage! I love adding the last little touches. I can hardly wait to share the finished cottage with you!
I hope you have a lovely Sunday.
