Pretty Victorian Trim And Geraniums, Oh My!

So, it seems that I’m noticing a trend. If I’m potting up geraniums in real life I want to make some in mini. Is it just me? I like to have minis of what I love and have around my home in real life. Ahhhh the curse. Ha ha! I’ll have to make some soon.

isn’t she pretty? I love this cheery pink.

It looks like my potting bench could use a tidy! I have rooted cuttings of African Basil that need transplanting soon!

So how’s your week been? I’m still roped into spending hours out in our gardens hand watering every morning. I usually start around 7:30 and I’m done around 10:30. Our monsoon rains are supposed to start up again this next week so I’m hopeful that there’s an end in sight. It’s been in the upper 90’s here in Central Florida and the sun is super intense for my not yet established plant babies, thus the daily regimen so far. It’s putting a serious dent in my dollhouse/ mini making schedule!

I’m making very good progress on the coastal cottage despite my plant watering! this week I got the shiplap up on two downstairs walls, framed out the downstairs doors with trim, cut a larger hole for the stairs in the kitchen, glued “tin” on the upstairs interior back wall and finished up gluing on the tin roof. Oh and I also glued on the shutters and the Victorian bric-a-brac. Whew!

New shiplap on the kitchen walls! The kitchen door got some trim. See the tin on the upstairs back wall? It’ll be a super cozy bedroom space very soon.

New door trim and I’m almost done with the shiplap.

Pretty Victorian bric-a-brac!

Next up is upstairs wood flooring install and finishing up the upstairs back wall, room divider, and side walls, and tin ceiling tiles on the downstairs ceiling, and stairs/banister install.

Then I can age everything and make it look a bit rustic and weather worn; my favorite part! And decorate. Yes. It’s coming soon I promise! These details are a bit fiddly but are worth the wait.

What are you working on for your dollhouse? Have you bought or made any new decor for Spring yet? I’d love to know! Please share in my comments section and we can all cheer each other on!

Happy dollhousing,

~ Jenna
