Tudor Cottage

Hello my friends, are you ready for fall? Today is the first day of my very favorite month of the year. October brings all things cozy and autumnal. Changing leaves, cozy blankets on my couch, hot apple cider and all of the fall fairs and craft sales are things that I look forward to all year!

Speaking of fall things, I’ve been working on my latest dollhouse ; the Tudor Cottage, for the past few months and I’m so excited to show you around! This style of house has always reminded me of fall in the English countryside. The dark timber beams and the mossy roof, crackling fires in the hearth, the darker tones and moody textures invite you to nest and dream of cooler days and magical places.

Romantic and rustic, this lovely two story heirloom quality dollhouse features classic English cottage style.

The exterior features an authentic plaster finish and aged timber beams, a stone chimney, a charming front door (non working, gently tacked in place with poster putty), a window box filled with moss and greenery, weathered and mossy wooden shingles on the roof, and climbing vines for the ultimate in countryside cottage charm.

The interior features four generously sized rooms, and a spiral staircase. Integrated ceiling beams upstairs and downstairs provide extra strength and regional character to this cottage. Textured plaster walls throughout create a cozy “old world” look throughout.

This dollhouse features two window seats and two built in fireplaces, as well as a wood nook for logs and a double bookcase. Stone floors downstairs make it extra magical, and weathered painted floors upstairs add a soft, feminine touch to the space.

Period style windows with faux lead details and wavy “old glass” effect provide an authentic look inside and out.
